I'm really into fairy tale radio plays by Willi Tom Stassar, produced back in the 1950s, broadcasted by ORF Landesstudio Tirol for several decades up until the late 80s (that's a guess) and since the early 2000s available on compact disc via the ORF shop (e.g. here) . So I was looking through all the tapes at home and found this gem:
"Der König von Balibubu" is a radio play for children by Friedrich Feld. Broadcasted by ORF Landesstudio Vorarlberg. I was not able to find any other mention of this particular play on the web so far. It's also unclear for me when the recording took place. Here is an excerpt of the outro stating production details:
Here is an example for a typical classical guitar interlude in the recording:
| Part | Actor |
|---|---|
| Basilius der 92., König von Balibubu | Otto Bolesch |
| Petra, sein Töchterlein | Judith Scheier |
| Konrad Klingelberg, Kanzler | Walter Taub |
| Dr. Rufus Berthold, Leibarzt des Königs | Rudi Kurzemann |
| Magdalena, Köchin des Königs | Bibiana Zeller |
| ein Herold | Adi Pölzel |
| Function | Name |
|---|---|
| Schnitt | Oskar Marlin |
| Tontechnik | Hubert Bolter |
| Leitung der Sendung | Mela Anders |
Hopefully ORF Vorarlberg still owns a high-quality copy of this particular radio play... because, well on my MC tape some 30 seconds are over-dubbed by Metallica - Nothing Else Matters. Little me hit the record button on the wrong tape.
